Tripswitch CP (“the application”) is a private catalogue and publishing tool operated by Nick Brennan / MU Media (“we”, “us”) to manage the Tripswitch music catalogue and publish video to the Tripswitch YouTube channel. This policy explains what the application does with data.
The application uses YouTube API Services
Tripswitch CP uses YouTube API Services. By using the application you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses it
The application is not offered to the public. It has a single operator — the owner of the Tripswitch YouTube channel — and it acts only on that operator’s own channel and their own recordings. We do not create accounts for other people and we do not process other people’s YouTube data.
What we access and store
- An OAuth token. When the operator authorises the application, Google issues a refresh token. It is stored in a single file on the operator’s own computer, with file permissions restricting it to that user account. It is never transmitted to us, to any server we run, or to any third party.
- Channel identity. The channel’s id and title, read once at authorisation so the application can refuse to upload to the wrong channel.
- Video records. For videos the application uploads, the YouTube video id and the metadata we supplied, stored in a local database on the operator’s computer.
We do not collect names, contact details, browsing history, location, health data, or any sensitive personal information. We do not use YouTube data for advertising, and we do not build profiles of viewers. We collect no analytics.
What we do with it
Uploading the operator’s own videos to the operator’s own channel, and recording which upload corresponds to which catalogue entry. Nothing else. We do not sell, share, transfer or otherwise disclose YouTube data to third parties.
Revoking access
The operator may revoke the application’s access to their Google account at any time via the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Revoking access immediately prevents any further use of the API on their behalf.
Deleting data
Stored YouTube API data can be deleted on request, and is deleted within 30 calendar days of a deletion request or of authorisation being revoked or failing to be verified. In practice deletion means removing the token file and the associated rows from the local database. Requests go to the contact address below.
Retention
The token is kept only while the application is in use and is replaced whenever the operator re-authorises. Video records are kept for as long as the catalogue entry exists.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date.
